Charlotte Pics

I took some photos of my gorgeous girl today and will share them here, but time for an update.

Back at school (just finished week 2), am super busy with Wakakirri (only 3 weeks til the competition/performance), start working at the uni on Wednesday.

My healthy eating is crap! I am soo back on track now though. I think I had a major blowout after getting Lifetime at WW! I went to the gym last week too, so I am feeling better about that. Am going for a run tomorrow if I feel up to it (am feeling sick tonight..puked already :( )

Anyway, here are the pics of Miss Diva!!

I did 11kms!

Well I know I can do the Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run now. This afternoon I ran 11kms in 1hour and 15mins. Hopefully I will be able to keep it at that time for 12kms or better it. I have a month to go, so no worries.

Feeling a little buggered now though, so I am off to play with TJ (Charlotte is still napping, bless her!)

My new motivation for running!!!

OK.... for those who don't know, my little boy TJ was diagnosed with cerebral palsy 5 months ago when he was only 8 months old. TJ's diagnosis is mild form of CP. It is spastic hemiplagic, down the left side... granted it is very mild, but has been need OT, physio etc. He has a hand splint to force his thumb out and stop his hand tensing up and forming a fist. We have to go to the specialist at the end of this month to get him a splint for his leg too. Hopefully he will be "normal" in a few years time, perhaps with a slight limp when he goes to school.

Now, the reason I am posting this is because the Bridge to Brisbane has the Cerebral Palsy League as a corporate beneficiary this year. Now...if you are in Brisbane and have a corporate team, that would be great, but I know a lot of us are planning on just going in it individually. Soooo to help the CP league receive this money, and you are doing the fun run, please let me know or pm me. Once you have registered, I can email the CP league and put you in as part of the CP team. You would get a free shirt as well....but needs to be done within the next week and a half!! Anyway, please pass this on to anyone you know and send me their rego details (and shirt sizes) and I can put you in as part of the CP team! Leaving you with a few pictures of my little guy (whom I am now running for!! )

Running, running, running!

Well I am getting there with the running. I can now run 8.5km comfortably, but it took 57 mintues. I am thinking ahead to the Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run next month and just don't know what to do.

There are 2 lengths. 4.5km and a 12km one. The 12km one can be walked/run and there are two lower divisions, one that everyone walking can do and then one above that where you aim to have it done in 90 minutes. I *think* it is possible to do. Once I push past that first pain barrier, I find the rest seems easy.

I have also realised that I am doing some small hills on my run. Not mountains as such, but the sort where you are finding it hard and then look back and see you have been doing a long slight incline. I did that particular part twice today and that is the hardest part. Even harder was that was where the (cold) wind tunnel was, so I was running up this stupid incline with wind against me :( I wasn't going to let it beat me though!

Loj has suggested waiting to chose which length I want to run until I am up around 10kms with the run and not coming against a wall. I know I would kick myself if I didn't do the 12km one though. BUT, I don't want to revert to walking part of the course either!

Righto.... better go think about dinner for the fam (as Loj - the usual chef) is watching the Bulldogs/Tigers game on tv.
